Music Mountain sees return of the Galvanized Jazz Band and Dover String Quartet
Galvanized Jazz Band
Falls Village CT: When a group of musicians delight their audience, history repeats itself at Music Mountain, America’s oldest continuing summer chamber music festival. Mid-August sees the return of the Galvanized Jazz Band on Saturday, August 17 (6:30PM) followed by The Dover String Quartet with acclaimed violist, Roberto Diaz performing Haydn, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn on Sunday, August 18 (3PM). This summer has been one that has featured rarely performed works plus premieres; and this weekend is no exception, with special moments and rare guest artists. The 84th season of chamber music, country and jazz concerts continue at Gordon Hall through September 8.
The Galvanized Jazz Band makes its record-breaking 20th appearance at Music Mountain! The organizers like to remind people that they shouldn’t forget their dancing shoes when this high energy, audience favorite plays the best of Dixieland, New Orleans Jazz, Blues, Stomps, and Spirituals. The five members who make up the Galvanized Jazz Band are phenomenal musicians individually, with countless years of performing, recording, and touring experience. They have traveled the globe and worked with some of the greatest veterans of jazz music. For over three decades the Galvanized Jazz Band has been thrilling audiences of all ages – come hear why CT Magazine readers voted them the Number One Jazz Band in the State!
